Chilfen invest in state-of-the-art CNC Machine

Chilfen Joinery are happy to announce yet another key investment to our plant with the addition of a new CNC machine to our already impressive range of machinery.

Our new 5 Axis CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Machine offers innovative solutions for every woodworking project. Its state-of-the-art technology allows for variable shapes of the highest quality, whilst standardised control engineering is set to increase productivity.

To name a few of its capabilities, the versatile new machine offers 3 dimensional shaping, cutting, trimming,precision drilling and a host of other tasks.

The machine is now fully installed and in operation and the team is already benefiting from increased productivity.

Chilfen invest in new automated spray machine

Chilfen Joinery are pleased to announce another new investment which is due to be installed in December 2015. The Cefla Prima is an automated spray machine and is set to further widen our capabilities and increase productivity and efficiency across the business.

Cefla Prima is suitable for any water or solvent based coating and has a working width of 1300mm. With an output range between 1 and 3 meters per minute, productivity is much higher, the machine capabilities ensure it can reduce waste whilst improve finish quality and consistency.

Chilfen Joinery are committed to continually improving practices and efficiencies, which includes strong investments in plant.

Welcome to the team Paul and Joe

Chilfen Joinery have welcomed another two new faces to the team, Paul Fallart joins us as our new site Manager, while Joe Turner joins the CAD team as a new CAD technician.

Paul has many years experience in joinery, site carpentry and shop fitting and 3 years experience as a contracted site manager. Joe started his career with a bench joinery apprenticeship and eventually moved on to joinery CAD design. He has nearly 4 years experience in Auto CAD.

We wish both Paul and Joe the best of luck in their new roles.

Chilfen Joinery raises funds for local hospice

Congratulations to the members of the Chilfen Joinery team who recently took part in the Standalone 10k road race. The team trained hard and managed to raise over £400 for local good cause, Garden House Hospice.

“Luckily the weather was on our side and shone for most of the morning, everyone enjoyed themselves and we are already planning our next race! Watch this space”.

Thanks for making our Open Day such a success!

On Thursday 17th September 2015 we held an Open Day at our facility on Flint Road in Letchworth. Recent key investments and improvements have led to a significant growth in business allowing us to invest in a company-wide rebrand including refurbishments of our headquarters. We have also made many positive internal changes that have allowed us to be much more efficient, cost-effective and environmentally friendly in all areas of the business. Our Open Day was held to showcase these changes to a select number of clients. The day included full tours of our facility and allowed for one-to-one consultations with each client so they could learn about how our changes could positive effect their own businesses.

Joint Managing Director Michelle Dear said: “All at Chilfen were delighted to open our doors to welcome existing and potential clients to view our recently refurbished and re-branded facility. The past five years have seen expansion and investment in both people and plant and we wanted to show our clients what we have achieved, and how we can offer a quality product manufactured in the UK with exceptional state of the art equipment and skilled staff”.

The day was a big success and it was great to see so many people come through ours doors. We are very much looking forward to the year ahead, to continue growing and to work on many more exiting and prestigious projects.
