Spray booths and drying room

Chilfen are pleased to announce installation of our new spray booth and drying room is due for completion July 15th 2013.

Having reviewed our operation over last 18 months we identified the need to upgrade our spraying facility to enable us to satisfy increased demand for our spayed products within the retail and commercial fit out sectors.

The new booths give us a combined spraying area of 540sqft and the drying room giving an area of 210sqft.

The drying room was seen as a very important addition to increase quality and through flow of our finished products.

Installation is well under way please do take a look at our progress pictures and check out the website daily for progress to completion.

New Board Member

Chilfen are pleased to announce the appointment of Adam Payne to the board of directors  undertaking the role of Project Director for Chilfen Joinery & Contracting Limited.

With the growth of our commercial contracting business we felt the need to have a Director that could assist with this continual growth and continue to ensure projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards we can offer.

Over the years Adam has managed comprehensive projects leading our Cad and project management team and has played a major part in the growth of this sector.

“Having started my career as a bench joiner I developed my core knowledge of the trade during a 3yr apprenticeship and advanced to the CAD Office  where I was self-taught on AutoCAD working alongside other CAD Technicians and Contracts Managers on commercial and residential projects. I showed willingness to progress within the industry and very quickly took on a Contracts Managers role running projects within the city & Canary Wharf and at the same time being mentored by Project Managers both on site and in-house.

Having experienced some basic skills in managing projects I moved to Ireland where I worked for a small joinery company and learnt various others skills such as estimating & surveying before coming back to the UK to work for a management company as a Project Manager & Cad Technician.

The experience gained throughout this period enabled me to manage a team of CAD Technicians and after 4 years I decided that my passion was within the manufacturing sector of the construction industry and from there was pleased to be welcomed by Chilfen Joinery in March 2007. Since my time at Chilfen I have seen the company grow extensively and with the help of our growing team within the CAD Department have assisted in the successful completion of an extensive variety of prestigious projects in London & Manchester. Projects such as Shell Oil & the University of Salford in Manchester and in London, projects such as Kensington & Chelsea Town Hall & the new offices for Yell. I look forward to the continuing growth of Chilfen Joinery & Contracting in my new role and the opportunity to help lead a well-established company within the fit-out industry”.

FSC accreditation

Chilfen are pleased to announce our FSC accreditation. FSC compliance means we comply with the highest environmental standards for responsible use of timber in our products.

Investment Management processes have been implemented for FSC production with full chain of custody to ensure we can offer “eco” alternatives.

Increasingly, governments and blue chip corporations are insisting specify FSC  certified products in their procurement programs.
