Chilfen Joinery are pleased to announce the recent completion of joinery manufacture for a large high-end residential project in the heart of Covent Garden, London. The project itself was completed alongside our client, renowned architectural package contractor Stortford Interiors, and saw our team manufacture bespoke joinery for forty-six luxury apartments and a penthouse apartment over a 9-month period.

Chilfen Joinery have worked with Stortford Interiors for a number of years manufacturing for a wide range of projects not just in the residential arena, but also commercial schemes including comprehensive interior fits outs and refurbishments. We are thrilled to have worked with them once again on this exciting and prestigious project.

The project entailed numerous joinery and furniture requirements, all manufactured to exceptionally high standards and included:

• Vanity base units finished in Alpi oak veneer for a luxurious look and feel with soft-close ‘push-to-open’ drawers, all mounted on polished stainless-steel legs.
• Vanity wall units finished in Alpi oak veneer with glass shelves and integrated LED lighting.
• Mirror units with polished stainless-steel frames, safety backed mirror with frosted etched borders, de-mister pads and integrated LED lighting.

Both the Chilfen Joinery team and Stortford Interiors were very pleased with the finished results.

Thursday 15th November 2018 saw Chilfen Joinery host our 3rd open day at our Letchworth production facility. The open day was a great opportunity for our clients to meet and greet a number of new Joinery team members, in addition to touring our facilities. The open day also gave the opportunity for attendees to watch demonstrations on our newest equipment on the production floor and enjoy 1-2-1 sessions with our projects team.

We are thrilled to have had excellent attendance on the day and meet many new faces. Feedback from the day was very positive, with many commenting on the benefits of seeing our equipment in action. In particular, many expressed how impressed they were with our new edge-bander and the quality of the work it can produce. Investing in new technologies and equipment has always been integral in our commitment to providing top quality end products to our customers, ensuring we stay up-to-date with the latest processes and technological advances.

The open day concluded with the draw of our ‘Plant A Tree’ competition, the winners being Harrison Jorge Ltd. Harrison Jorge win a tree planted in their name in association with Woodland Trust. The Plant A Tree competition is part of our ongoing commitment to caring for our planet, helping grow woodland habitats and preserving the UK environment.

Chilfen Joinery are thrilled to have been presented with a Certificate of Appreciation from the team at Develop for hosting student work experience during their last academic year.

Develop is a non-profit organisation who deliver a wide range of education and training programmes across the Eastern Region. Chilfen Joinery have a long and successful history of providing invaluable work experience and apprenticeships to local students, and were more than happy to support Develop’s work experience programme.
