Chilfen Joinery have completed works at the new flagship headquarters for SSE at Forbury Place, Reading.

The extensive office space, which stretches out across 189,000 square feet, is one of the largest sole occupier new builds in Reading and was developed by Como Group, in partnership with HKS Architects.

The fit-out completed by Chilfen involved the delivery of a highly bespoke joinery package across eight floors. It included joinery solutions for break out areas, tea points, a restaurant, reception, lobby ares, conference rooms and offices. The job spanned over several months and included working alongside a number of third party contractors and independent specialists. The result was a high specification and modern working space for SSE staff who have been brought together from a number of regional offices.
