When working on a project for one of the world’s largest communications groups, employing 16,000 people in over 100 countries, one can expect nothing less than perfection when it comes to the requirements of Havas Media for their new headquarters in London’s King’s Cross area.
Located at 3 Pancras Square, the stunning 164,000 sq. ft. Grade A office building has been reworked to provide the ‘London Village’ for the numerous Havas brands and is ideally positioned to take advantage of everything on offer at King’s Cross, including stunning views across the Canal.
Chilfen Joinery are proud to have collaborated with long-standing partners and leading construction service providers Structure Tone Ltd, who were the primary contractors on this project, with architectural and interior design coordination managed by MCM Architecture.
As appointed subcontractors, Chilfen Joinery were tasked with manufacturing and installing joinery across all floors, and worked closely with all parties from initial design approval process through to final installation.
Chilfen Joinery’s fit-out for the project, valued at £1.5 million, included the application of a broad range of materials including timber screening, solid oak slats, laminates, plywood, black patinated metal work, Valchromat MDF wall panelling, Cemento panelling and worktops, antique bronze mirrors and 300-year-old reclaimed French oak floorboards.
With a striking black and grey colour scheme, high ceilings and concrete work tops, the interior spaces focused on delivering a highly industrial look, complimented with touches of high quality finishes. This contrast and the progressive approach towards the fit-out was one of the most interesting and rewarding aspects of the project for the team at Chilfen Joinery.
